BENEFITS
The Most Important Benefits
One of the most important benefits of membership
is your vote on matters of importance to our association
and our profession. Your vote helps to influence
NAPNES policy and elects our officers and board members.
One person, one vote. In our organization, your
vote really does make a difference.
Professional Research
NAPNES conducts research on Practical Nursing
and answers questions about nursing research conducted
by others.
National Education Standards
NAPNES publishes national education standards and works
to help make practical nursing education uniform across
the U.S.
National Practice Standards
NAPNES is in the process of creating national
practice standards for LP/VNs to help make practice
standards more uniform across the U.S.
Representation
NAPNES represents LP/VNs, PN Schools, PN Educators and
PN Students at national conferences, regulatory meetings
and high level nursing policy making meetings.
Individual nurses are not invited to these meetings
and it's the only way the entire group practical/vocational
nursing profession is represented at these meetings.
Additionally, NAPNES provided education
materials to state and national legislatures and state
regulators on P/VN practice and education.
Professional Pride
As an LP/VN, you are educated to provide patients with
quality bedside care; therefore you should take pride
in your job and your profession. By joining NAPNES,
you make a statement; your membership shows others that
you believe in licensed practical / vocational nursing
and that you are proud to be an LP/VN. In short, as
a member of NAPNES, you are doing more than making a
living; you are making a difference!

National Presence
When you join NAPNES, you join an organization that
has been the voice of licensed practical/vocational
nursing for over 65 years. During that time, NAPNES
has worked to keep licensed practical/vocational nursing
alive in its present form. NAPNES speaks out for LP/VNs
whenever and wherever licensed practical/vocational
nursing is threatened. LP/VNs have proven themselves
as an integral part of the health-care team and NAPNES
believes that its members should be allowed to continue
in this role.

LP/VN Networking

The NAPNES network provides you with information about
issues affecting LP/VNs across the country. The NAPNES
network enables you to acquire valuable contacts who
can share their experience and expertise with you.
