Online Application Process

These steps will help expedite the application process and subsequent certification. Please follow the steps carefully to avoid any delays.

  1. Download certification packet (if you have not already done so) and make sure you read all the instructions and that you meet all of the qualifications. To download the packet, click here. This is a PDF file. Once you've saved the packet print it out on your printer, and return to this page.
  2. Make online payment for each of the (re)certification(s) for which you will apply by selecting each individually.

    Each payment will open in a new window. Once the payment process is completed, write down the PayPal receipt number and keep it handy. Close the window and return to this page.
  3. Complete application form (part of the certifcation packet printed in step 1). Be sure to complete all required information. In the payment section, indicate payment was made with PayPal and include the receipt number, date of payment and the name of the person making the payment if other than your own.
  4. Copy of License - Pharmacology, Long- Term Care, and I.V. Therapy Certifications require an LPN or LVN license in good standing. Have a copy ready to email or fax.
  5. Sending Application and Documents - Now either email the certification department (click here) or fax us (703) 940-4089 the following:
    • Completed Application
    • Copy of your license
    • Email address or fax number where you would like the certification department to send the letter authorizing you to take the certification exam.
  6. Authorization Letter - Once the application is processed, the certification department will send a letter to the email address or phone number given in step 5.3 above with instructions on how to log-in to Castle Worldwide and take the certification exam. Candidates have 60 days from the date of the letter to take the exam.
  7. After the Exam
    • If you pass
      1. Print out the affidavit. Complete the form and have it notarized per the directions.
      2. Mail the affidavit to the NAPNES certification department.
      3. The certification department mails the certification card in approximately three (3) weeks to the address you provide.
    • If you fail
      1. Print out the page that provides information on areas that should be studied to improve your test score.
      2. Email (certifications@napnes.org) the certification department and request a reauthorization to test. Be sure to include your full name and address.
      3. The certification department will contact Castle Worldwide and have a new user name and password generated for you (this takes several business days).
      4. The certification department will email a new authorization to test letter. Candidates will have 60 days from the date of this new letter to take the exam.
